Chapter Members, I would first like to extend my gratitude to Past President William Helm for his dedicated leadership and contributions to our chapter. Under his guidance, we've achieved significant goals and milestones.As we welcome the dawn of a new year, I am honored to address you as the President of our Chapter. It is with great enthusiasm and optimism that I share our collective goals for the upcoming year, aiming to strengthen our community, enhance member involvement, and elevate the awareness of the architecture profession.
1. Acknowledging Member Contributions: I want to recognize the wealth of expertise within our membership. Let's enhance member involvement in subcommittees, fostering collaboration and leveraging diverse talents to address challenges. 2. Amplifying Community Awareness: Architects shape communities. This year, we'll engage in events and outreach programs to raise awareness about the positive impact of our profession. Let's build stronger connections with our local community. 3. Championing Sustainable Practices: As stewards of the built environment, we'll advocate for sustainable architecture. Through education and outreach, we aim to inspire both members and the community to embrace sustainable principles in their projects. 4. Supporting Aspiring Architects: Recognizing the challenges in the path to licensure, our chapter is committed to providing resources and support to those pursuing licensure as architects. Whether it's study groups, mentorship programs, or access to relevant materials, we aim to facilitate your journey toward becoming a licensed professional. 5. Ensuring Professional Integrity: We acknowledge the importance of maintaining the integrity of our profession. This year, we will actively work to raise awareness about the risks associated with unlicensed individuals practicing in our field. Through educational initiatives and advocacy, we aim to protect the reputation of architecture and advocate for the importance of licensure.
