Zoning Reform RoundtableAIA El Paso recently co-hosted a well-attended Roundtable Discussion on Zoning Reform, drawing professionals from across the design and development community. The strong turnout reflected growing interest in shaping El Paso’s future through smarter, more equitable zoning policies. We encourage our members to stay connected and continue building relationships with the City of El Paso. Ongoing engagement is essential to ensuring architects have a voice in the decisions that shape our built environment. Thank you to everyone who participated—we look forward to more conversations like this in the future. La Wheela + Deck Plaza OutreachAt the recent La Wheela event, Paso del Norte hosted a community booth to introduce the Deck Plaza Project, a bold initiative to reconnect our city over I-10. Many attendees were hearing about the project for the first time and responded with curiosity and civility. Encouraged by the feedback, we’re planning additional outreach efforts with neighborhood associations. These conversations may be more intense but are crucial for public awareness and support. We’re calling for more volunteers to support upcoming efforts. AIA El Paso is also working to improve our Q&A materials to ensure we’re ready for meaningful, informed dialogue with the public.
