Chapter Members, Fall is in the air and the Golf weather is now rolling in. Get your teams registered today for the Architecture Foundation’s annual Golf Tournament coming up on October 20th. With fall upon us, it is also time to organize our slate of candidates for the Chapter’s 2024 Executive Committee. With all of our current members choosing to stay on the board for another year, we have our Community Director position open to fill in this year’s election. If you are interested in serving on the Chapter’s Board or have someone you would like to nominate - please reach out to myself or another member of our board this month. The only qualifications for the position are being a current AIA member in good standing with energy and ideas to contribute to the cause. We look forward to hearing from you! The Call For Entries for the 2023-24 Design Awards is out and entries are due to be submitted on Friday, September 29th. We hope you are hard at work to preparing your submittals already. Follow the link below for more information with all the details on submitting and make plans to attend the Architecture Gala in January at the Paso Del Norte Hotel. Also, in this coming week, don’t forget to register to attend EMERGE, the Texas Society of Architects annual Conference and Design Expo happening in Fort Worth on November 2nd-4th. EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION ends next Tuesday on September 19th. We have openings for sponsors in January, April, May and June available for booking in 2024. One final note - our membership has been invited to attend the next ASHRAE meeting that is happening this Wednesday at EPCC. The topic of the meeting is covering an Energy Efficiency Tax Deduction that could benefit many of your projects. Details on registering to attend are in the newsletter announcements below.
